At AnimaLogger, we believe your pet's health data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Data Collection and Storage

AnimaLogger is primarily a local-first application, but includes optional cloud features for subscribers.

Health & Personal Data

  • Local Storage: Your pet profiles, medical logs, and photos are stored directly on your device. We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly use the Secure Data Sharing feature.

Account & Subscription Data

  • Anonymous IDs: We use anonymous user IDs to manage subscriptions and feature access.
  • No Tracking: We do not track your behavior per session or sell your data.

2. Subscriptions and Payments

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and validate purchases with the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely by Apple or Google. AnimaLogger never collects, stores, or has access to your credit card information or billing details.
  • Purchase History: RevenueCat may process your purchase history to validate your "Pro" status. This data is linked to your anonymous user ID or store account ID.

3. Secure Data Sharing (Pro Feature)

The "Pro" plan allows you to share pet data with up to 4 other AnimaLogger users (for a total of up to 4 pets).

  • End-to-End Encryption: All shared data is encrypted before it leaves your device. It stays encrypted until it reaches the recipient's device.
  • Key Management: The app generates a unique Encryption Key Phrase for you. You can share this key directly via the app or physically with your trusted contacts.
    Important: AnimaLogger does not know and cannot recover your key phrase. If you lose it, the shared data cannot be decrypted by anyone, including us.
  • No Access: Because of this encryption, AnimaLogger staff cannot read, view, or mine your shared pet data.

4. Third-Party Services

The app may use generic operating system services (like iCloud or Google Drive) only if you explicitly choose to back up your data to your own personal cloud storage. We do not have access to these backups.

5. Analytics

We do not track your usage behavior or collect personal analytics. Any crash reports sent to us via the App Store or Google Play Console are anonymized and used solely to fix bugs.

6. Data Export

You have full control to export your data at any time via the app's settings. The exported CSV or PDF files are generated locally on your device.
